I've tweaked the live input:

The Remix now has a persistent 🎧 Live input toggle (next to "Rec in") that's independent of recording:

Turn it on and you hear whatever's plugged in, continuously — no recording required.
The live input is routed into the master mix, so it's part of everything: if you run the mixdown recorder it's captured, and it plays alongside your lanes, pads, orb, and chopper.
While it's live, you can hit Rec in → Chopper (or a pad/lane) and it records that same input — so you can capture a phrase into the chopper, chop it onto a pad, and play it back, all while still monitoring and laying down lanes.

It reuses one input stream (so the interface isn't opened twice), switches devices if you change the dropdown, and releases the device when you leave the Remix tab. The existing Monitor checkbox still governs the auto-monitor during a "Rec in" when Live isn't on (and now routes into the mix too).

One caution: since the input is in the master mix and going to your speakers, a microphone could feed back — for line gear like the MicroFreak you're fine; if you ever mic something, use headphones or toggle Live off.
